Accumulation of water on the roads causes trouble

When it rains, the residents of Langenhövel Street in Heessen often have to contend with pools of water for days on end, especially at the bends leading to St. Stephen's Church and a private path. Small lakes form there in which children could float paper boats.

This problem has existed for many years. At the request of local residents, the Heessen CDU has now submitted a request to the city to repair the road in order to eliminate the accumulation of water. The CDU had already asked for solutions in 2016 and minor work was carried out.

However, these measures were not sustainable. Now the CDU is calling for fundamental work to be carried out. Group leader Gabriele Beltrop-Hengst and councillor Arnd Hilwig emphasize that the problem of puddles and splashing water is no longer acceptable. Solutions such as filling in the slumped areas or measures to improve water drainage into the green spaces are conceivable.
