The Waldbühne Hamm-Heessen and the Verband Deutscher Freilichtbühnen - Region Nord receive financial support from the Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe (LWL). A total of 175,000 euros will be distributed.
The Waldbühne Heessen receives 2,500 euros from the LWL. This amount will be used to build a weatherproof wooden arbor as a lounge and storage area behind the scenes. The Verband Deutscher Freilichtbühnen - Region Nord, also based in Hamm, will receive 16,000 euros for its office.
The LWL supports a total of 16 open-air theaters in North Rhine-Westphalia. The funding was approved by the LWL Culture Committee.
Dr. Barbara Rüschoff-Parzinger, LWL Head of Cultural Affairs, emphasizes the importance of the funding for the voluntary commitment of the play associations, which reaches numerous families in the region. Westphalia-Lippe is characterized by a particularly high density of open-air theatres.
